Fotografia - Hiroshima ha 70 anos
Faz hoje 70 anos sobre a explosão da bomba atomica sobre a cidade japonesa de Hiroshima, no dia 6 de agosto de 1945. A fotografia, feita a cerca de 10 km do epicentro da explosão, foi encontrada no meio de documentos relacionados com o assunto e sua autoria é desconhecida.

Víctor Lidio Jara Martínez (San Ignacio, région du Biobío, 28 septembre 1932 - Santiago, 16 septembre 1973) était un chanteur auteur-compositeur-interprète populaire chilien.
Membre du Parti communiste chilien, il fut l'un des principaux soutiens de l'Unité Populaire et du président Salvador Allende. Ses chansons critiquent la bourgeoisie chilienne (Las casitas del barrio alto, Ni chicha ni Limoná), contestent la guerre du Viêt Nam (El derecho de vivir en paz), rendent hommage aux grandes figures révolutionnaires latino-américaines (Corrido de Pancho Villa, Camilo Torres, Zamba del Che), mais aussi au peuple et à l'amour (Vientos del pueblo, Te recuerdo Amanda).
Arrêté par les militaires lors du coup d'État du 11 septembre 1973, il est emprisonné et torturé à l'Estadio Chile (qui se nomme aujourd'huiEstadio Víctor Jara) puis à l'Estadio Nacional avec de nombreuses autres victimes de la répression qui s'abat alors sur Santiago. Il y écrit le poème Estadio Chile (aussi connu comme la chanson-titre Canto qué mal me sabes) qui dénonce le fascisme et la dictature. Ce poème est resté inachevé car Víctor Jara est rapidement mis à l'écart des autres prisonniers. Il est assassiné le 15 septembre après avoir eu les doigts coupés par une hache1.

Explanation: These two detailed, true color images of Pluto were captured during the historic New Horizons flyby last month. With slightly different perspectives on the now recognizeable surface features they are presented in this first high quality stereo pair intended for viewing by denizens of planet Earth. The left hand image (left eye) is a mosaic recorded when the spacecraft was about 450,000 kilometers from Pluto. The right single image was acquired earlier, a last full look before the spacecraft's closest approach. Despite a difference in resolution, the pair combine for a stunning 3D perception of the distant, underworldly terrain.

Las seis fuentes de agua más famosas del mundo - Trafalgar Square, Londres, Inglaterra
Son dos, en Trafalgar Square. Estas fuentes, ubicadas en uno de los grandes íconos de Londres se colocaron para reducir el espacio ante posibles manifestaciones o protestas populares. Fueron inauguradas en 1845 y, con el tiempo, se le añadieron figuras de delfines, tritones y sirenas. Las primeras fuentes fueron cambiadas a fines de años 30 por otras diseñadas por Edward Lutyens, que reformuló el sistema artesanal de las bombas. En los últimos años, las fuentes de Trafalgar Square fueron completamente renovadas: se cambió el sistema de bombeo de agua y, en la actualidad, fueron dotadas de un nuevo sistema de iluminación multicolor con LED.

Explanation: Circinus X-1 is an X-ray binary star known for its erratic variability. In the bizarre Circinus X-1 system, a dense neutron star, the collapsed remnant of a supernova explosion, orbits with a more ordinary stellar companion. Observations of the X-ray binary in months following an intense X-ray flare from the source in 2013 progressively revealed striking concentric rings - bright X-ray light echoes from four intervening clouds of interstellar dust.In this X-ray/optical composite, the swaths of Chandra Observatory X-ray image data showing partial outlines of the rings are in false colors. Remarkably, timing the X-ray echoes, along with known distances to the interstellar dust clouds, determines the formerly highly uncertain distance to Circinus X-1 itself to be 30,700 light-years.

All of downtown Lisbon built between two hills can be seen from the top of this sloping park. With a view of the castle and the river, this is a picture-perfect spot.
A Baixa, construída entre duas colinas, pode ser admirada do topo deste parque que parece descer até ao rio. Com vista do castelo e do Tejo, é um local perfeito para fotografias.
